Redmi A3 was officially announced in February 2024 alongside Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Xiaomi 14, Watch 2 and Watch S3. Pre Orders began on 14 February 2024 and the devices were made available on February 23, 2024. It landed in Kenya in March 2024. The Redmi A3 succeeds the Redmi A2 as the top new Redmi flagship.  Redmi A3 is available at City hub at Ksh.12,000 for the 64GB + 3GB RAM and Ksh.13,500 for the 128GB + 4GB RAM.

It offers a glass-back design, a circular camera module, and a 90Hz 6.71-inch IPS display. Redmi A3 runs Android 13 OS, with MIUI software cover. It is powered by an Octa-core, MediaTek Helio G36 (12 nm) processor, anchored by 64GB 3GB RAM, 128GB 4GB RAM, and 128GB 6GB RAM internal memory. The front camera for selfies is a single 8MP lens and the main camera consists of a dual setup: 13 MP (wide) + 0.08 MP (auxiliary lens). Powering the handset is a 5000mAh, non-removable battery, recharged by a wired 10W fast charge

Design

The Xiaomi Redmi A3 combines both glass and leather to create a unique and premium feel. The Redmi A3 has a 6.08-inch Super AMOLED display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected by 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5. The contrast ratio is 60000:1 (min) and the color gamut is NTSC 102.7% (typ). The phone has a Diamond PenTile sub-pixel arrangement.
