Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max in Kenya

The iPhone 15 Pro Max was launched in September 2023 alongside the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Plus. Pre-orders began on September, 2023, and the devices were made available on September 22, 2023. It landed in Kenya in November 2023.  The iPhone 15 Pro Max is available at City hub at Ksh.161,000 for the 256GB and Ksh.178,000 for the 512GB and Ksh.199,000 for the 1TB.

Build

The iPhone 15 Pro Max this year brings about a more significant redesign in the inclusion of the Dynamic Island. The new iPhone 15 Pro Max replace the stainless-steel frames with aerospace-grade titanium, which are lighter, tougher, and corrosion-resistant.

The new iPhone 15 Pro Max is 20 grams lighter than the 14 Pro Max, and you can feel it immediately.

The glass panel Apple used on the back is still ion-strengthened, while the one on the front is still Apple’s hardest and most durable glass, called Ceramic Shield.

Display

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is equipped with a stunning LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display, offering vibrant colors, deep blacks, and high contrast. The screens support ProMotion, the fancy naming for the dynamic 120Hz refresh rate, which means that the screen is able to go down to 1Hz for the Always-On and Standby features.

The iPhone’s display also supports a wide color gamut, HDR10 and Dolby Vision video standards. The panel has the Dynamic Island pill-shaped cutout. It is protected by Corning’s Ceramic Shield, which appears to have an oleophobic coating for enhanced smudge resistance.

Camera

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max has a total of four cameras – three on the back and one selfie camera. Each of these setups is further assisted by a LiDAR system (back) and a 3D ToF camera (front).

Starting with the main camera on the back, the 15 Pro has a 48MP sensor with 1.22µm pixels and second-generation sensor-shift stabilization. The lens’ focal length has a 24mm equivalent and the aperture is f/1.78.

You can now capture 48MP HEIF/JPG images alongside 48MP ProRAW. They’ve also come up with 28mm and 35mm equivalent digital zoom modes, and the iPhone will let you pick one of these focal lengths as your default setting.
