Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max in Kenya
The iPhone 16 Pro Max will be launched in September 2024 alongside the iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 and 16 Pro. Pre-orders will begin on September 15, 2024, and the devices will be made available on September 22, 2024. It will possibly land in Kenya in November 2024. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available at City hub at Ksh.270,000 for the 256GB, Ksh.310,000 for 512GB and Ksh.330,000 for the 1TB.
It is Apple’s latest flagship smartphone that embodies the pinnacle of innovation and sophistication. With its sleek design, advanced camera system, powerful performance, and robust security features, the iPhone 15 sets a new standard for mobile excellence. Boasting a stunning Super Retina XDR OLED display, the device offers an immersive viewing experience. While its A16 Bionic chip ensures seamless multitasking and responsiveness.
Design
Apple is designing new A-series chips for the iPhone 16 Plus lineup, built on the latest N3E 3-nanometer node. We could see some improvements to efficiency and performance, but we haven’t yet heard details on just what we can expect. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could use different chips, with the higher-end chip limited to the Pro models.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max will have larger display sizes. The iPhone 16 Pro max will have a display that’s 6.78 inches in size (rounded to 6.9).
The Action Button that was limited to the iPhone 15 Pro max models will expand to all four iPhone 16 models in 2024, and the iPhone 16 ProMax lineup is also said to have a new “Capture Button” that’s used for taking photos and videos. The Capture Button will work like the shutter button on a digital camera, detecting multiple levels of pressure for focusing and then capturing an image.

Camera
Apple is planning a new vertical camera lens arrangement that is a departure from the prior diagonal lens setup. The new orientation will presumably allow the standard iPhone 16 models to capture Spatial Video for the Vision Pro headset. Apple is also expected to bring the Tetra prism 5x optical zoom lens to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Apple tested several designs for the standard iPhone 16 Pro Max models, but ultimately decided on a vertically aligned camera system with a pill-shaped camera bump. Prior iPhones have used a square-shaped camera bump to accommodate the diagonal lenses, but Apple is able to slim down the camera bump with the new lens arrangement.
Colors
The iPhone 16 Pro Max could come in seven colors: blue, pink, yellow, green, black, white, and purple.
The iPhone 16 ProMax models are expected to adopt the same color-infused back glass that was used for the iPhone 15 models. The rear glass layer will feature a frosted effect that contrasts with the main frame color.
Display
he iPhone 16 Pro max OLED panels could use micro-lens technology for both improved brightness and and reduced power consumption. Micro-lens arrays or MLA uses a uniform pattern of billions of lenses inside the panel to reduce internal reflection. The reflected light increases perceived brightness without increasing power consumption.
The OLED displays that used in the iPhone 16 ProMax lineup will be more power efficient thanks to improved materials.
Apple is using Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology for some of the iPhone 16 models, which is expected to result in slimmer bezel sizes. BRS allows for a more compact and efficient layout of the circuitry under the display, allowing for thinner bezels without impacting display performance.
MagSafe
The MagSafe alignment magnets in the iPhone 16 ProMax models may be slimmer than before, cutting down on the size of the magnetic ring required for MagSafe-compatible cases.
Connectivity
The iPhone 16 ProMax could be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 modem, allowing for faster and more efficient 5G connectivity. According to Qualcomm, the X75 offers improved carrier aggregation, plus the combined sub-6Ghz and mm Wave 5G transceiver takes up 25 percent less circuit board space and uses up to 20 percent less power.
Qualcomm’s X75 supports the “5G Advanced” standard with AI and machine learning enhancements for 5G improvements, so Apple could market the iPhone 16 promax as having “5G Advanced” connectivity.
USB-C Port
Apple will transition to USB-C technology with the iPhone 15 Pro lineup, and it’s also expected to be used for the iPhone 16 ProMax models.
Battery
Rumors suggest the iPhone 16 Promax will use stacked battery technology, which can result in higher capacity and a longer lifespan. Stacked batteries are common in electric vehicles and medical devices but are an emerging technology for smartphones.
The stacked battery of 3,561mAh could come alongside faster 40W wired charging and 20W MagSafe charging. Rumors suggest that most of the iPhone 16 Pro max models will see a small increase in battery life.
