Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 was officially announced in July 2023 alongside Samsung Galaxy Flip 5. Pre Orders began on 26 July 2023 and the devices were made available on August 11, 2023. It landed in Kenya in September 2023. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 succeeds the Galaxy Z Fold 4 as the top new Galaxy flagship. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is available at City hub at Ksh.137,000 for the 256GB and Ksh.145,000 for the 512GB.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 borrows its triple rear camera system from the Galaxy Z Fold 4. That means a 50MP main camera (ƒ/1.8, one-micron pixel size, OIS), a 12MP ultrawide lens (ƒ/2.2, 1.12-micron pixel size), and a 10MP 3x telephoto shooter (ƒ/2.4, 30x digital zoom, OIS). It uses Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 SoC; slightly taller than previous model with dimensions 158.5 x 128.5 x 6.5mm unfolded and 158.5 x 67.5 x 14.5 – 16mm when folded.
A teardrop style hinge that will ensure both sides of display close flat when folded and reduce appearance of display crease; a prototype called Flex In & Out that can fold both inwardly and outwardly could show up on it as well.
